Million-Year Basalt Strata Facing the Sea

Resting at the foot of Mount Thới Lới, Hang Câu represents the most monumental volcanic landscape on Lý Sơn. Compressed basalt layers and volcanic ash, eroded by the East Sea over millions of years, form dramatic undulating cliffs that shelter an ancient shallow coral reef.

At dawn, the first rays of sunlight illuminate the dark rock face in gold, creating a breathtaking contrast between deep stone and cyan sea.

Đảo Bé An Bình: The Island of Crystal Waters

Just a 15-minute speedboat ride across open water from Đảo Lớn, Đảo Bé (An Bình commune) is a secluded jewel. Its waters boast a radiant emerald hue, clear enough to trace pure white coral sand and marine life several meters below.

Glide on a stand-up paddleboard along volcanic outcrops or take a round coracle boat out to the shallow reefs — where only wind and whispering waves break the silence.

“Amidst the tempestuous waves of the East Sea, Lý Sơn stands not merely as a landmark, but as a living monument carved in basalt and anchored by the pride of seafaring guardians.”
